Keterampilan dasar dalam proses pembelajaran merupakan unsur penting yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru dalam mengemban profesinya.
Keterampilan Dasar guru yang dimaksud dalam pembahasan ini adalah mencakup delapan aspek sebagaimana yang dikemukan oleh Turnay yang meliputi
1) keterampilan bertanya,
2) keterampilan melakukan penguatan,
3) Keterampilan melakukan variasi pembelajaran,
4) Keterampilan menjelaskan,
5) keterampilan membuka dan menutup pelajaran,
6) Keterampilan membimbing kelompok kecil
7) keeterampilan mengelola kelas
8) keterampilan mengajar keelompok kecil
dan perorangan.
